And you know that Art is not just a piece to decorate our walls. It is more than that.
You are Right! Art is a feeling expressed by an artist that resonates with your innermost feelings.
If you are going through mixed feelings right now. I understand. Let me help you to select something you will cherish for life or I can work with you to create a piece that is personal to you.
I create to fill the voids in my life, to let go off everything good or bad. Everyone have some form of voids in their life and if those voids gets bigger life become so heavy to live with. So why not fill those dark voids with colourful paints and bring the best out of it.
I want to fill those void in everyone’s life through my paintings which is inspired by Indian Festival of Colours “Holi”.
Holi is celebrated for many reasons – To celebrate happiness, it also symbolises good over evil and my paintings are all about bringing happiness and smiles through vibrant colours.
About my Style
I paint in watercolours as I love the way they paint themselves. All the colours fused with each other and make pleasing colour harmony. Being nature lover, I paint mostly animals , birds and living beauties. My subjects emerged out from the background. They are in identifiable form but I don’t put much details in my subjects. My paintings are all about feelings that arise from vibrant colours.
About me and My Story
I am Urvashi Patel. I love nature, animals, dancing and painting.
I grew up in India in a middle class family believing art is just an hobby and we can’t make proper living out of it. So I studied Computer Science and Joined corporate Job which I am still doing it.
I used to draw and paint during school holidays and in my spare time. Apart from drawing, I used to do various other crafts like crocheting , Bead works etc. I think this comes from my Mom who used to do all various kind of crafty things at that time.
I earned my first commission by drawing Biology Journals for my friends in School.
After School, I didn’t draw or paint apart from engineering drawings in college but always felt something is missing.
I started painting again after I got married and came to UK. Life became so quiet here.My husband plays cricket on weekend and he suggested me to start painting while he is away.
He got me my first watercolour set and easel on my Birthday. I started painting to fill those voids and felt alive.I instantly realised that this was missing all those years. It was like a light bulb moment. I taught myself by watching videos, joined painting clubs and workshops.
There is a lot of work that goes in making of an artist. I started posting my work on social media and started getting commission. I took a plunge and joined Association of Animal Artists, Started exhibiting with them.
I still work as an artist part time and mostly paint on weekends and evenings. I would love to live a life of full time artist making decent living.

“ The Portrait you did is lovely. As I read what you write about your work, it struck me that you are pleased when people describe your paintings as “happy” – and this is how I like to think of our dogs over the years and they might not be well behaved all the time, but I like to feel they are happy.” You are a breath of Fresh Air. And I am thrilled to know a strong woman artist” Ruth.Become a part of my community by following me on below channels
